Golden Loaf Bakery named one of the sweetest shops in Canada

A bakery in Elk Point has received one of the sweetest national honours.

The Golden Loaf Bakery was named the Alberta winner for their full line bakery service in the Sweetest Bakery in Canada contest.

Tammy Robb has owned and operated the bakery for 16 years with her husband and thank everyone for voting for her.

“It means everything. Everybody came together and voted for us every day and our surrounding communities as well, so it means a lot to us to have that much support from everybody,” she said.

Golden Loaf took the cake out of 29 qualifiers full offering full line bakery service, while others were vying for donut shop and cake shop recognition.

Jennie’s Diner in Bonnyville and the Old Fashioned Bread Bakery in Smoky Lake also entered the contest.

The contest started in June after Golden Leaf entered through Dawn Foods.

So, what’s the best treat at Golden Loaf Bakery?

“Definitely our cinnamon buns and our doughnuts.”
