Cold weather blowing through Lakeland tonight and tomorrow

A special weather statement is in effect for the Lakeland with the expectation of cold temperatures tomorrow.

An intense cold front will sweep through the province today and tonight, said Environment Canada.

As the front passes, a mixture of rain and snow, gusty winds and a marked drop in temperatures can be expected. Daytime highs on Tuesday will be near or below freezing.

The M.D. of Bonnyville, County of St. Paul, Lac La Biche County, and Smoky Lake County are listed in the weather statement.

Heavy snow is expected for western Alberta including in the Rocky Mountains.
