Bonnyville man facing charges of aggravated assault, victim stabbed multiple times
A Bonnyville man is facing charges of aggravated assault after a stabbing last week.
The incident happened at Squires Court in Bonnyville in the early morning of Sept. 7 where a fight broke out.
The victim was stabbed multiple times and was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries, which were determined to be non-life threatening.
RCMP responded and arrested 27-year-old Alexander Hewitt, who turned himself in to police.
He faces charges of aggravated assault.
Hewitt was released on a “high” no-cash bail, said Sgt. Kim Hillier.
Due to extenuating circumstances, she said there was little threat going forward of a similar situation between Hewitt and the victim.
His court date is Sept. 24 at Bonnyville Provincial Court.
