St. Paul Ag Society gears up for 32nd LRA Final in town

Advance tickets are now on sale for St. Paul’s premier summer event.

The Lakeland Rodeo Association finals are in St. Paul Aug. 29-Sept. 1 in a week full of community activities.

The LRA finals have been home in St. Paul for 32 years, said St. Paul Agricultural Society president Doug Drolet.

“It’s been a great show. It came to us from Camrose and it did kick around to different locations. It came to St. Paul in the late 80’s and it’s been here ever since,” he said.

The community engagement and spirit is always high for the August long weekend event, which is a key reason the LRA keeps coming back, said LRA president Cory Dunlop.

“The LRA really enjoys coming to St. Paul. Mainly because of the town. The town gets behind it so much,” Dunlop said.

“As a competitor, I go to other association finals and you don’t see the town get behind those finals like the Town of St. Paul does. And being from town, I see how much the town lights up the week before the finals and then during the finals. I don’t see the LRA moving any time soon.”
