Elk Point RCMP arrest male wanted for armed robbery

Mounties in Elk Point have confirmed they have arrested Ryan Stonechild. Stonechild was wanted in for the armed robbery of a vehicle, along with a number of other charges. Also arrested were Angel Wolfe and Mariah Stanley. All three individuals are from Onion Lake, Saskatchewan.

On August 2, 2019 at approximately 2:20pm  Elk Point RCMP members located a Nissan Pathfinder with one male and two female occupants in Fishing Lake Metis Settlement. This vehicle had been stolen at gunpoint the previous night near Maidstone, SK. Members attempted a traffic stop and the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. Due to the severity of the previous known offences, a pursuit was initiated.

The Nissan Pathfinder lost control on a gravel road south of Frog Lake First Nations and left the road way. Two females were arrested near the vehicle and a male was arrested a short distance away.

With the assistance of surrounding RCMP detachments, RCMP Air Services, and RCMP Police Dog Services, all three suspects were apprehended and taken into custody without incident.

RCMP members recovered and seized a stolen firearm, as well as other numerous weapons in relation to this offence.

Ryan Stonechild (29) of Onion Lake, SK was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Flight from Police
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (X 2)
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Unsafe storage of Firearms
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Firearm in a Vehicle
  • Common Nuisance (Endanger Life)
  • Failure to Comply with Recognizance (X 2)

Stonechild has been remanded until Court on August 6, 2019 in Bonnyville Provincial Court.

Angel Wolfe (20) of Onion Lake, SK was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Flight from Police
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (X 2)
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Unsafe storage of Firearms
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Firearm in a Vehicle
  • Common Nuisance (Endanger Life)
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

Wolfe has been remanded until Court on August 22, 2019 in St. Paul Provincial Court.

Mariah Stanley (19) of Onion Lake, SK was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Flight from Police
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (X 2)
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Unsafe storage of Firearms
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Firearm in a Vehicle
  • Common Nuisance (Endanger Life)
  • Identity Fraud
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking (X 4)

Stanley has been remanded until Court on August 8, 2019 in St. Paul Provincial Court.

As the matter is now before the court, no further information will be released.
