Power outage expected to last until mid-afternoon in Bonnyville says ATCO

ATCO Electric is currently changing an electrical pole near the Bonnyville and District Centennial Centre which has caused a power outage in Bonnyville.

A fire caused by the rain ran three quarters up the pole, forcing the change.

The power outage affects the east side of Bonnyville is expected to last for three hours, said Barry Clark, operations supervisor for ATCO Electric.

It is estimated the power outage affects 400 roughly people.

*The Centennial Centre was evacuated when the power went out.

Children’s camps are still running with regular pick up time for parents.
