Pontiacs alumni getting noticed, Proctor named to Golden Knights development camp
Two former Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs are getting noticed at a higher level of hockey.
Netminder, Colby Muise has signed with a NCAA team and Kirby Proctor has been invited to an NHL development camp.
Kirby Proctor
Pontiac alumni Kirby Proctor named to the Las Vegas Knights NHL summer development camp.
Kirby played for the Bonnyville Pontiacs during the 2017/18 season. He was selected to the AJHL All-Rookie North Team prior to moving on to Des Moines of the USHL this past season.
“I am extremely excited for Kirby’s opportunity and know that his academic and hockey future is bright. He has a first class family who has supported him throughout his hockey journey and I couldn’t be happier for Kirby and the Proctor family,” says Head Coach and General Manager Rick Swan.
Colby Muise
The Bonnyville Pontiacs are extremely pleased to announce their 9th NCAA commitment this year with goaltender Colby Muise moving on to the Marian University Sabres.
Muise was stellar for the Pontiacs last season appearing in 44 games (plus 6 play-off games) earning a GAA of 2.50 and .912 save %. Muise was also nominated for Most Outstanding Goaltender and was a recipient of the AJHL Defensive Player of the Week. He was awarded the playoff MVP for the Pontiacs last season.
“Colby’s play was tremendous and instrumental towards contributing to the most wins in Pontiac franchise history as well as an Organization record for ‘least amount of goals against and best penalty kill percentage’ in the Alberta Junior Hockey League last season.
“He is a great kid with a high level of intensity and burning drive to help his team win. I believe that Coach Gayner is getting a gem and that Colby will become an instant success to the Sabres program next season,” says Head Coach and General Manager Rick Swan.
“Everything Colby contributed as a Bonnyville Pontiac was appreciated and we wish him all the very best in his NCAA journey.”
Marion University is located in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and plays in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association conference.
Colby Muise is the 64th player to play for the Bonnyville Pontiacs and commit and move on to college hockey since 2014.
