Cold Lake First Nations is holding a nomination meeting for chief today.
The nominees for chief will then have a *two-week campaign before election day in CLFN on June 26.
The nomination meeting is at the CLFN band office from 2-4pm.
On June 19, a nomination meeting will be held for councillors.
Those who wish to run for chief must be a full citizen of the Cold Lake First Nations and have resided on the reserve lands at least five years prior to being eligible for nomination.
Candidates also must be at least 21 years of age, have served on council for at least one term prior to being nominated and have the ability to understand and speak Chipewyan.
Any person wishing to nominate and be nominated must be present at the meetings.
