Bonnyville RCMP has determined that the male who was believed to be fraudulently going door to door to collect bottles for Girl Guides was indeed trying to collect bottles for a fundraiser.
“The male has been identified and police have determined that he was indeed attempting to collect bottles as a fundraiser for his young child who lives in the Edmonton area,” said Sgt. Kim Hillier in an emailed statement.
“We appreciate the public assistance in identifying the male and determining the benign nature of his involvement with a fundraising initiative. Public awareness and vigilance helps keep our community safe.”
