Cold Lake RCMP apprehend man waving fake pistol

A Cold Lake First Nations man has been charged after allegedly waving a fake firearm.

On April 29, 2019, Cold Lake RCMP responded to a report of a male under the influence of methamphetamine who was seen walking with what appeared to be a pistol.

The suspect was allegedly chasing a water truck and then seen walking towards a residence where there were children present.

Officers attended and performed a high risk take down on the suspect who was then taken into custody without incident. A dark coloured air soft gun was found in his possession and was seized as evidence.

William Jacknife (19) of Cold Lake First Nation, has been charged with several weapons related offences and is to appear in Cold Lake Provincial court on May 22, 2019, at 10:00 am.
