Two people have been arrested for armed robbery stemming from the incident at Sonny’s Cold Beer and Liquor Store in October.

On Oct. 13, three females went into Sonny’s, sprayed bear mace at the clerk and demanded cash after the assault, the RCMP said due to video surveillance.

They fled with several bottles of liquor.

Twenty-seven-year-old Angel Blackman from Cold Lake and a 17-year-old from Frog Lake were arrested following a three-month investigation.

Blackman is facing charges of robbery with a prohibited firearm, pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon through crime, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The youth is also facing robbery, assault, and weapons-related charges.

Blackman was released on a $500 cash bail, recognizance, and the youth was released by a justice of the peace on a $400 cash bail recognizance.

Their next court date is Feb. 5.
