For the first time in its history, the United States Navy Blue Angels demonstration team will be coming to the 2020 Cold Lake Air Show (CLAS).
The announcement became official in December, when members of the Cold Lake Air Show committee attended the International Council of Air Shows Conference.
“This will be their first appearance in Cold Lake and we couldn’t be more excited to host this iconic military Air Show demonstration team,” says Deputy Chair, Major Kael Rennie in a statement.
This will be the second time in a row that the Cold Lake Air Show secured an exclusive act.
Cold Lake was the only Canadian stop for the F22 Raptor in 2018 and Cold Lake will be the only Canadian show to host the Blue Angels in 2020.
The demonstrations look to showcase the professionalism, excellence and teamwork of the US Navy fleet, as well as dazzle and entertain.
Since its inception, the team has flown for more than 450 million spectators worldwide.
