Happy New Year from the AG Ross Arena

Tales from the Timebox: January 2nd, 2019

All of our minor  hockey teams were shut down between Christmas and New Years with the exception of the Midget Avalanche who played up in Bonnyville this past Saturday night winning 5-2 over the Pontiacs.

Plenty of penalties in this one. Two of my old friends, veteran referees, Garth Campbell and Gary Goereniuk not letting anything get out of hand. Just another day at the office for them.

As you know the Midget aged boys like to feel their oats and butt heads from time to time. A few grudges may have carried over from last week’s game in Elk Point. Last week in Elk Point the Bonnyville boys racking up lots of penalty minutes, this week it was mostly our guys.

The talented heads up rookie, center-man  ‘ Lightning Liam ‘ Ludlage with two assists, his brother the hard nosed veteran defenseman ‘Hayden ‘ Hotwheels’ Ludlage with a helper and six trips over to the sin bin. Obviously he never seen the note Santa left him to play nice ! Goalie Colton ‘ Colt 45’ Van Maarion between the pipes had a fairly busy night facing 24 shots. Our guys putting 33 shots on the Pontiac keeper.

Hope Santa was good to you. Happy New Year everyone. All the best in 2019 and I hope the Leafs can win the Stanley Cup.
