Four people died in collision outside Plamondon
Last night at approximately 7:00 p.m., Lac La Biche RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 858, 5 kms north of Plamondon.
A truck with three occupants was heading northbound on Highway 858 when a head on collision occurred with a southbound SUV with five occupants.
The male driver of the SUV (33) and a child passenger suffered serious life threatening injuries and were transported to hospital and then airlifted via STARS to Edmonton. Tragically, a female passenger (34) and two other children were pronounced deceased at the scene. All occupants were from Edmonton.
The male driver of the truck (21) from Edmonton and a male passenger (20) from Plamondon suffered serious life threatening injuries and were transported to hospital and then airlifted via STARS to Edmonton. Tragically a 23-year-old female passenger from Plamondon was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Lac La Biche RCMP and a RCMP Collision Analyst remained on scene until approximately 6:00 a.m., and continue to investigate this collision. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
Our thoughts are with all the families of the deceased during this difficult time. The names of the deceased will not be released.
