Photo submitted: Around 8:30 yesterday morning a police cruiser had its light and sirens when striking a vehicle going southbound at the intersection of Highway 28 and 69th Avenue near the Tri-City Mall. The police say there were no serious injuries.
The RCMP have released a statement regarding the collision at the intersection of Highway 28th and 69th Avenue near the Tri-City Mall yesterday saying there were no serious injuries.
However, both drivers were transported to the Cold Lake Hospital as a precaution.
“At approximately 8:30 AM, RCMP were responding to an emergency situation and were travelling Northbound on Highway 28 with lights and sirens. At the intersection of Highway 28th and 69th Avenue, a Police cruiser struck a vehicle as it was turning Southbound from 69th Avenue. Although there were no serious injuries, both drivers were transported to the Cold Lake Hospital as a precaution. As a result of the collision, an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist attended the scene to investigate. Traffic at the intersection was delayed until 1:30 PM.”
The RCMP investigation is continuing.
