LCSD Celebrates its Staff and Retirees

Lakeland Catholic School District (LCSD) celebrated its staff on October 29th at the annual District Celebration. Along with long-service recognition for staff members, the celebration served to honour retirees. This year, LCSD saw two staff members walk the halls for the last time as employees; Leeor Beley and Rolland “Rollie” Mercier.

Leeor was the librarian at St. Dominic Elementary School and Rollie worked in the district Maintenance Department.

“LCSD would like to thank its retirees for their steadfast commitment to excellence in education within the district over the years. We wish them many blessings in their retirement,” said Communications Officer for LCSD, Amanda Wildman.

Honoured at the celebration was Lorraine Hawkins a Classroom Support Teacher (CST) from St. Dominic Elementary School. Lorraine was set to retire but has decided to come back to the district as the librarian of St. Dominic Elementary School.

40 years service award Eva Flathers is a Student Assistant at Ecole Notre Dame Elementary School in Bonnyville.

30 years service award Odette Caron, Jackie Gagne and Tim Urlacher. Odette is an Instructional Learning Coach for the District, Jackie works in Accounts Payable at Central Office and Tim is a chemistry teacher at Assumption.

25 years service award Valerie Mitchell is a teacher at Holy Cross Elementary School in Cold Lake and Ed Hourd works in the district Maintenance Department. Michelle Drapaka is a teacher at Ecole Dr. Bernard Brosseau Middle School.

20 years service award Jeff Cey, Erma Adrian, Vicky VanBrabant and Shayne Midford. Jeff is the vice principal at Ecole Notre Dame High School, Erma is a custodian at ENDHS, Vicky is a Student Assistant at Ecole Dr. Bernard Brosseau Middle School and Shayne is the Phys. Ed. teacher and Athletic Director at Assumption. In the second photo you will see Shannon Fleming – she is a teacher at Assumption.

15 years service award Louisette Gardner and Travis Adrian. In the second photo you will see Chantal Sakowich. Louisette is a Student Assistant at Holy Cross Elementary, Travis is a custodian at Ecole Dr. Bernard Brosseau Niddle School and Chantal is a math teacher at Assumption.

10 years service award Justin Barlow, Amanda Wildman, Margaret Newman, Cheryl Schesnuk, Yvonne Langer and Heather Friedrich. Justin is a teacher at Ecole Dr. Bernard Brosseau Middle School, Amanda is an Instructional Learning Coach for the District, Margaret is a custodian at St. Dominic Elementary School, Yvonne is a custodian at Dr. Brosseau Middle School and Heather is a teacher at Ecole Notre Dame Elementary School.
