Charity Showcase for New Theatre Happening Saturday

Local musicians will be playing for a good cause Saturday.

The 2nd Annual Charity Showcase will be raising money for the Bonnyville and District Fine Arts Society’s quest for a new theatre.

“It’s just going to be a night of local talent, and a good way to raise funds for the new building. And to help continue our music that’s happening here in Bonnyville, with having the town being so musically inclined, having a place to go and practice,” said organizer, Riwa Kamaleddine.

“Whether it be for drama, music, or dance, it’s very important, especially in our community and that’s why the funds are going for them.”

Eight local musicians will grace the stage at the Lyle Victor Albert Centre including David Collins, Kelsie Blain, tim Graham, Keanna Reid, Chantil Costard, Rose-Marie Cameron, and Corita Vachon.

There is also a silent auction and a 50-50 draw.

“Last year I did the exact same showcase and the proceeds went to the Children’s Wish Foundation. It’s something that I want to do every year, but with the proceeds going to a different organization or charity,” said Kamaleddine.

Tickets are $15 in advance and can be purchased at Lakeland Grill, Norglass, or Tellier’s Guardian Pharmacy. They are $20 at the door.

“We’re so excited for a great show this year.”
