RCMP charge 29 year old in fatal collision; alcohol a factor

Cold Lake RCMP have charged 29 year old Ethan Brett Janvier, of the Cold Lake First Nations, in relation to the June 3rd fatal collision that took place on the Nation.

The collision took place shortly after 9 p.m. on June 3rd, when a north bound SUV lost control and rolled several times. The 55 year old male passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the 28 year old male driver was transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance and then to an Edmonton hospital with serious injuries. Both occupants of the vehicle were residents of the Cold Lake area.

Ethan Janvier has been charged with:
  • Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death.
  • Impaired Operation Over 80 mg% of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death.
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death.
Ethan Janvier will be making his first court appearance on September 12, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Cold Lake Provincial Court.
