About the TELUS Ride for Dad
The TELUS Ride For Dad is an organization that raises funds for the fight against prostate cancer through research and awareness with Canada’s biggest annual power-sports events of its kind.
The first Ride for Dad took place in Ottawa in 2000 with about 80 riders, raising just over $20,000 for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre.
The event gets bigger and more exciting each year as new Chapters and committed Canadians join the fight against prostate cancer across the country. The TELUS Ride for Dad has grown to over 40 communities across Canada and has expanded to include snowmobile, ATV, and watercraft events!
Today, more than 250,000 men, women and children have been involved, raising more than $27 million to fight prostate cancer.
The mission of the TELUS Ride For Dad is to raise funds for the purpose of saving men’s lives by supporting prostate cancer research, and by heightening public awareness about prostate cancer.
Net proceeds from all fundraising efforts are divided between these two important initiatives by our parent charity, the Prostate Cancer Fight Foundation.
Net proceeds from TELUS Ride For Dad events across Canada are used to benefit the region where the funds are raised, by supporting new and innovative prostate cancer research, and by raising public awareness of the disease through local media awareness initiatives.
