Although it’s a national organization with more than 40 events across Canada, proceeds raised from the Lakeland will be used to benefit men and families living right here in this area.

The TELUS Ride for Dad will be held on June 16th. Registration from 8-9:30am, with the ride starting at 10am sharp from the Ardmore Fire Hall.

Since 2015, 413 participants, hundreds of volunteers, and thousands of donors have helped raise $44,261 for Prostate Cancer Research & Public Awareness.

This philosophy is shared by the title sponsor, TELUS, who also gives where they live through supporting events like this. “And we are so thankful for their generosity,” states a spokesperson for the Ride for Dad.

“Thanks to riders like you and your generous donors, our sponsors like TELUS, and our many local sponsors, plus hundreds of thousands of other supporters across the country, the TELUS Ride For Dad has raised more than 27 million dollars for the fight against prostate cancer!”

In the Lakeland, the Ride has raised more than $44,261 for the fight against prostate cancer. By spreading the word about early detection, as well as researching better treatment options and diagnostic tools, you will make a difference.

“We thank you for getting on the road (or trails) to raise funds so we can make a difference right here in Lakeland! On behalf of everyone at the TELUS Ride For Dad here today and right across Canada, we thank you.”

About the TELUS Ride for Dad

 The TELUS Ride For Dad is an organization that raises funds for the fight against prostate cancer through research and awareness with Canada’s biggest annual power-sports events of its kind.
 The first Ride for Dad took place in Ottawa in 2000 with about 80 riders, raising just over $20,000 for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre.
 The event gets bigger and more exciting each year as new Chapters and committed Canadians join the fight against prostate cancer across the country. The TELUS Ride for Dad has grown to over 40 communities across Canada and has expanded to include snowmobile, ATV, and watercraft events!
 Today, more than 250,000 men, women and children have been involved, raising more than $27 million to fight prostate cancer.

 The mission of the TELUS Ride For Dad is to raise funds for the purpose of saving men’s lives by supporting prostate cancer research, and by heightening public awareness about prostate cancer.
 Net proceeds from all fundraising efforts are divided between these two important initiatives by our parent charity, the Prostate Cancer Fight Foundation.
 Net proceeds from TELUS Ride For Dad events across Canada are used to benefit the region where the funds are raised, by supporting new and innovative prostate cancer research, and by raising public awareness of the disease through local media awareness initiatives.
