At Tuesday’s Town of Bonnyville Regular Council meeting, Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, Bill Rogers updated Mayor & Council on the progress of the new Town Hall. Rogers says they are very hopefully to have the office ready for the first week of March, “we have a projected move in date of the first week of March, if the stars align.”
“We’re putting our heads together, the managers and the contractors granting substantial competition of the building process. It looks like we’re coming to a meeting of the minds and we’re very hopeful that we’ll be able to come to an arrangement this week,” Rogers explains the exterior is near completed with work still needed in the interior before move-in.
After the new Town Hall is open, the old building will be demolished. Before that, the public will have a chance to get purchase items that will not make the move, says Rogers, “once we get everything moved over, we’ll do an inventory and anything that’s available, from the windows to the wood trim, anything that we don’t want will be auctioned.” The goal is to have a public auction to sell as much as they can.
