On the cusp of the post-season the Elk Point Elks have picked up some key players who were instrumental in securing a win. It was the second last regular season game for the Elks on Friday evening. In front of the home crowd the club picked up a 8-3 win over the St. Walburgh Eagles.

New additions to the club include Nathan Rosychuk, Devin Moneta, and netminders, Hunter Lorenson & Paul Lafierre. Coach Murray Cochrane says the men are welcome additions, “they’re all very talented and really add to the team. We’ve very happy to have them.” They also helped the club secure an important two points on Friday.

The Eagles may have opened up the scoring, with a goal from KOLTON BAPTISTE but it didn’t take long for the Elks to respond. #TeamWozniak took to the ice with a beauty to tie up the game,  RYLEY WOZNIAK on the goals and JORDYN WOZNIAK with the assist.  SCOTT WARD ,with help from MATTHEW BOULIANNE, put up the go-ahead just minutes later. The first period was certainly busy with another goal to follow from St. Walburgh’s  KOLTON BAPTISTE.  DYSON KARBASHEWSKI placed one way back into the depths of the net, for the Elks to close the period 3-2; thanks to some helpers, JOHN SCHMITT & SCOTT WARD.

The horns were blarring in the AG Ross Arena, as new addition  NATHAN ROSYCHUK slammed in the forth goal for the club. RYLEY WOZNIAK picking up his second point of the evening on the assist. Taking the all important three-goal lead, for the home team, was  HENRY CARDINAL with SILAS MAKOKIS & BRENT BACQUE. The visiting team manged to get one more goal, thanks to CORD HARVEY and that would be the last time the Eagles soared. From there it was Elks all the way.

The third period saw three goals from the Elks, starting with  NATHAN ROSYCHUK, with RYLEY WOZNIAK & KAM BALLAS on the assist. Ryley Wozniak put in the next two goals, giving him a hattrick and a five point night.
