On December 26th, the Bonnyville RCMP received a call from a man who had claimed he was being threatened by an intruder. Constable Wanda Decoste explains that after a short investigation the complaint was not substantiated.

“We received a call from a Kehewin male, who had claimed there was a man in his house threatening him with a knife,” there was a two-hour time delay, from when he alleged the incident happened to when he called it in. Further the details of the story were not plausible, “turns out he was impaired on drugs and alcohol. It appears he had imagined the incident.”

The RCMP did make an arrest that evening, “he was wanted on several warrants.”
