Cold Lake RCMP Seize Prohibited Firearm, Cash and Drugs During Vehicle Stop
On October 27, 2017, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Cold Lake RCMP members conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on 16 avenue in Cold Lake and seized 108 grams of cocaine, 180 grams of marihuana, 50 grams of methamphetamine, a significant amount of cash and a loaded prohibited firearm. As a result of the investigation three people were arrested and charged.
33 year old Ryan Wesley Flood of Cold Lake, Alberta, has been charged with:
Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
Possession of marihuana for the purpose of trafficking.
Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 3.
Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition without a licence.
Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm.
Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition in a motor vehicle.
Careless use of a firearm.
18 year old Vanessa Angela Gabriel of Cold Lake, Alberta has been charged with:
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
- Possession of marihuana for the purpose of trafficking.
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 3.
- Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition without a licence.
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm.
- Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition in a motor vehicle.
- Careless use of a firearm.
- Fail to comply with a recognizance x 8.
- Fail to comply with a probation order x 2.
The 14 year old male youth of Cold Lake, Alberta, who cannot be named as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act has been changed with:
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
- Possession of marihuana for the purpose of trafficking.
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 3.
- Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition without a licence.
- Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition in a motor vehicle.
- Careless use of a firearm.
- Fail to comply with a youth probation order x 2.
- Fail to comply with a designated place of detention x 2.
- Carrying a concealed weapon.
All three accused persons were remanded into custody and will be making their next court appearance at Cold Lake Provincial Court and at Cold Lake Youth Justice Court on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at 10:00 a.m.
