Charges Laid Following Aggravated Assault

During the early morning hours of October 18, 2017, Cold Lake RCMP responded to a complaint of an assault with a weapon at a residence on the Cold Lake First Nations.

Upon arrival, a male victim was located unconscious at the scene.  A female victim was also located with minor injuries.  The male victim was transported to the Cold Lake Hospital and later to an Edmonton hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition.

Gordon Floyd August Cardinal, 23 years old of the Elizabeth Metis Settlement has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault With a Weapon x 2 and Failing to Comply with an Undertaking x 2.  Gordon Cardinal has been remanded into custody to appear at Bonnyville Provincial Court on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at 10:00 a.m.

Myia Noltcho, 20 years old of the Cold Lake First Nations has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Assault With a Weapon.  Myia Noltcho has been remanded into custody to appear at Bonnyville Provincial Court on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at 10:00 a.m.

The individuals charged and the victims in this case were known to each other.
