Dangerous Hitchhiking

Last week, the Cold Lake RCMP received complaints of two males hitchhiking outside of the city. S/Sgt. Jeremie Landry says RCMP responded and arrested the men in question, who were posing a risk to themselves and motorists.”

“Both males were [believed to be] grossly intoxicated, they were jumping out into traffic, trying to hitchhike. Their level of intoxication was putting themselves in risk,” S/Sgt. Landry says the men were arrested and brought to the detachment.

Arrested was a 43 year old man, from Beaver Lake. “He was arrested and lodged in a cell until sober, with a ticket,” the ticket was for being intoxicated in a public place. The second male, was a 19 year old, who as it turned out, was not intoxicated. The second male was not arrested.
