Terri Hampson, who lives and works as a financial officer, for Northern Lights Public Library Systems, in Elk Point, has announced her candidacy for Elk Point Town Council.  In 2014, Hampson moved to the community after meeting her, now, husband, Dan.

Hampson: “I look forward to being an independent voice on council, working alongside the mayor and other councilors as a team. I will represent our town including the youth, families and the seniors whom make up our diverse community”.

During the short-time that she has lived in Elk Point, it has displayed her the ambition to give back. “I can say, I care deeply for this community. I am passionate about the town, I now call home.” Hampson has been actively involved in the community through the Community Lions Club and the president of the Elk Point Pickleball Club.  “Coming from the big city, it was a bit of transition; but I wouldn’t trade this small-town living in for anything! It would be an honor and a privilege to serve.”

She is running on the following 3 promises:

Communication

  • make council accessible with open two-way communication
  • council needs to be more visible

Commitment

  • continue to generate community enthusiasm
  • promote pride
  • take ownership back of the community we call home\

Common Sense

  • growth and financial accountability
  • local and community focus
  • continue and build strong partnerships
