St. Paul RCMP respond to shot fired in apartment complex

 

On Sept. 13, 2017 at approximately 5:00 p.m., St. Paul RCMP responded to a report of a possible gunshot in an apartment complex located in St. Paul.

Police arrived and located what appeared to be a bullet hole in the victim’s residence. A 17-year-old male from a separate residence was arrested and taken into custody without incident and a loaded rifle was seized by police. No one was injured.

The 17-year-old male has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm

He was remanded into custody after a judicial hearing and is set to appear in St. Paul Provincial Court on Sept. 21, 2017. The youths name cannot be released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

As this matter is now before the courts no further information will be provided.
