Elk Point RCMP investigate mischief to Heli-pad
Elk Point are asking the public’s assistance after responding to a report of mischief at the Elk Point Hospital.
On the morning of Sept. 11, 2017 Elk Point RCMP attended the Elk Point Hospital and were advised that sometime between Friday Sept. 8 -11, 2017, the Heli-pad lights used by STARS to land were vandalised.
Ten aviation lights and three lenses used by helicopters to land were all broken and a planter was left in the centre of the Heli-pad. The damage is estimated to be approximately $500.00.
“This type of vandalism is not only costly but it put lives at risk,” says Constable Cindy Tymensen, Elk Point RCMP, “A seriously injured person may have had to wait a few extra minutes they did not have while a landing was attempted.”
