Trailer Fire deemed Suspicious

In the late afternoon of September 1st, the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority (BAFA) responded to a structure fire at 41st Street and 49th Avenue, in the town of Bonnyville. “We are treating it as a suspicious fire,” confirms Fire Chief Brian McEvoy.

The fire will be referred to the RCMP to investigate further, says McEvoy, “we don’t have much else to report to that matter unless charges are laid.”

“There were no occupants and it had been vacant for sometime,” Chief McEvoy confirms that no persons were injured in the blaze that engulfed an abandoned trailer. Further, there was no damage done to any of the surrounding houses.

As the investigation is ongoing, McEvoy could not comment further on how the fire started.
