Elk Point RCMP execute search warrant on Chop Shop

Two Arrested, Two at Large

On Aug. 21, 2017, Elk Point RCMP executed a search warrant on a residence near Secondary Highway 646 outside of Elk Point; near Heinsberg, AB. Several items believed to be stolen were seized including 10 vehicles, one enclosed trailer, one motorcycle, three snowmobiles, four ATV’s and two lawn tractors. Many of the items were missing VIN numbers and were is various pieces.

Elk Point RCMP were assisted with this investigation by the Emergency Response Team (ERT) – Edmonton, General Investigation Section (GIS), Auto Theft Unit, and RCMP Air Services.

 

Neil Lawrence Mountain**, a 40-year-old from Beaver Lake was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • 5 counts of Theft Over $5000 contrary to Section 355(a)
  • 10 counts of Theft Under $5000 contrary to Section 355(b)
  • 2 counts of Altering a VIN contrary to Section 353.1(4)

He was remanded into custody and will be appearing in St. Paul Provincial Court on Sept. 7, 2017 via CCTV.

Dwayne Norman Lagimodiere**, a 36-year-old male from Frog Lake was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • 5 counts of Theft Over $5000 contrary to Section 355(a)
  • 10 counts of Theft Under $5000 contrary to Section 355(b)
  • 2 counts of Altering a VIN contrary to Section 353.1(4)
  • 4 counts of failing to comply with release conditions contrary to Section 145(3)

He was remanded into custody and will be appearing in St. Paul Provincial Court on Sept. 7, 2017 via CCTV.

Two further suspects are wanted in relation to this investigation. Arlene Janice Lagimodiere**, 39-years-old and Jeremy Gordon Whincup**, 46-years-old, both from Manville, Alberta are wanted for the following Criminal Code offences:

  • 5 counts of Theft Over $5000 contrary to Section 355(a)
  • 10 counts of Theft Under $5000 contrary to Section 355(b)
  • 2 counts of Altering a VIN contrary to Section 353.1(4)
