Women remanded to custody following theft of sunglasses.

On August 7th, at 10:30 am, Cold Lake RCMP were called to Fast Gas in Cold Lake for a theft. S/Sgt Jeremie Landry, of the Cold Lake Detachment explains, “a female walked out with a pair of sunglasses, without paying.”

RCMP patrolled the area and didn’t initially locate the suspect. “The female suspect was known to RCMP and she was located a short time later, downtown Cold Lake. She was arrested for theft under $5,000, as well as, breaching conditions.”

RCMP have charged a 35 year old woman* with theft under $5,000, 2 x failing to comply with a recognizance and 2 x failing to comply with a probation order. She appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody. Her next court appearance will be August 23rd at 10:00 am at Cold Lake Provincial Court.

“The theft of sunglasses resulted in five different charges because of conditions,” S/Sgt Jeremie Landry.

*The name of the accused has not been released at this time. If you would like to know the identity of the accused you can attend Cold Lake Provincial Court on August 23rd when the suspect is set to appear.
