Short film and biography of the settlement being made.

The Historical Agency at Fishing Lake Métis Settlement is working on major project bringing together the history of the settlement; along with the families that helped shape the community. Council Chair, Terry Parenteau, explains the settlement is looking to honour those who helped build the community, as well as, help discover more about the culture of the settlement and its people.

“We want a historical accounting of how Fishing Lake came to be,” Parenteau says the project is important to the community, “you don’t know where you’re going, if you don’t know where you started.”

“The Historical Agency is looking for information to support a short film and a biography based on each individual,” Parenteau says the goal is to have a background for the original families that settled in Fishing Lake. Anyone is welcome to participate and contribute to the project.
