Town of Bonnyville 2017 Census Results

The Town of Bonnyville is pleased to announce that the unofficial results for the 2017 census indicate that the population is 6,422 residents.

The Town of Bonnyville Census was completed both online and by enumerators. This year, 32.48 per cent of residents answered the census online, up slightly from 2014.

Information about gender, age, household status, tenancy and types of residences was also collected and will be tabulated and released on the Town website -www.bonnvville.ca in the near future.

The 2017 Census results do not reflect the shadow population numbers as this population did not yet meet the Government’s reporting standards for shadow population. The unofficial population number for the Town’s 2017 Municipal Census has been submitted to Alberta Municipal Affairs according to the Municipal Government Act and the Determination of Population Regulation and will become official upon their acceptance.

The Town of Bonnyville sincerely thanks the residents, St. John’s United Church enumerators and Town administrative staff for completion of the census and was pleased with the initial online response and hopes to increase the online response in the next census.
