The City of Cold Lake wowed spectators with a 30 minute fireworks show on the marina to cap off a successful Canada 150 celebrations. The huge show was lead into by a day filled with great, family friendly activities.

The day started with a very well attended parade at 10:00 am under some fog. The parade was extraordinarily special, as it included Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. A fundraising and awareness campaign in which males wear red high heels to display their support to end violence against women. Among those walking the parade route in heels were Mayor of Cold Lake, Craig Copeland and S/Sgt of the Cold Lake RCMP Detachment, Jeremie Landry.

Canadian rocker, Bif Naked played a free concert just before the sky and gigantic lake were lit with fireworks on the beach.
