Spencer Foo entered this past hockey season only  a couple of months away from eligibility for free agency. The 23 year old has landed with the Calgary Flames, after a lot of speculation on his NHL destination.

Time with the Pontiacs

Foo spent two seasons with the Pontiacs from 2012-2014. In his first season with the Yaks, he put 30 points on the board. In 2013-2014 Foo showed his offensive flair that teams like. That season he scored 67 points in just 60 games. Foo was a key member of the Pontiacs for the two years he was in Bonnyville.

Union College

Following the ’13-’14 season, Spencer Foo committed to Union College. He spent three years there, and progressively worked his point totals back to the totals from his final season with the Pontiacs. In his first two years with Union College, Foo scored 25 points in 39 and 36 games respectively.  In 2016-2017, Foo began the path that saw him become one of the most coveted college free agents of the year.

His 62 point total in 38 games was second on the team to Michael Vecchione. Foo led Union College in assists this past year. His performance this season saw him finish as a Hobey Baker Award finalist.

Headed to Calgary

Originally from Edmonton, Spencer Foo doesn’t have to go too far from home for his first few camps of his NHL contract. Foo signed with the Calgary Flames on June 27, 2017. Foo had previously been to Flames development camp in 2016 before signing with the team this year.
