Elk Point’s SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) participated in keeping the roads safe this past long weekend by assisting local emergency services with a highway check stop. Drivers were stopped and questioned or tested at the intersection of Highways 646 and 41.
In attendance were Cpl Bobby Burgess and Const. Garnier of the RCMP, while Elk Point Fire Dept. was represented by Fire Chief Jordan Cousins, Lyle Frisby, Ramsey Mudryk, and Kassandra Moores.
The SADD Team includes: Kolbie Poitras, Chyanne Fisher, Caleb Poitras, Kyle Smith, Leshaun Jenkins, Erin Duffee, Megan Phillips, Kelsey Phillips (member at large), Sam Urquhart, Taylor Ford, Rachel Zacharuk, Alexis Krider and mentors: Sherry Bower Gagne, Angie Phillips and Donna Krider (parent volunteer).
