Lakeland Lacrosse Association Reveals New Logo
First logo update since 2005
The Lakeland Lacrosse association was created in 2005. Since then, the association has grown tremendously. For the past two years, the Canadian Lacrosse Association has recognized the Lakeland association for fastest growth in an area.
“We felt that we needed to give our Association an updated logo that easily identifies us as one of Alberta’s premier lacrosse clubs.” Rod Pettigrew, President of Lakeland Lacrosse, says.
The new logo, which was revealed live on our Facebook Page Tuesday night, features a red dragon and updated word art. The colours on the logo have also been updated. The logo was designed by Curtis Ogrudiuk from Artslinger.ca.
Lakeland Lacrosse opted to get an updated word mark, and secondary logo to go with the new primary logo. All three logos, are a clear echo to the association’s mantra “Bring the Heat.”
“The red water dragon exhibits [heat] to a tee. These dragons exhibit courage, strength and good luck.” Pettigrew explains.
Lots of kids involved
The Lakeland Lacrosse Association has over 325 kids registered for this year. Players ages range from 4-21 years old. According to Pettigrew, the association is rivaling the size of some associations in Edmonton and Calgary. Peewee girls lacrosse is in its second year and is a big focus for Lakeland Lacrosse association this year.
The Lakeland Heat season gets underway on April 24th.
