Bonnyville teen writes & publishes first novel
Lakeland, be proud! Cassandra Beck, of Bonnyville, has produced and published her very first novel at the age of 18. The pan-genre young adult/teen novel titled, “The Golden Pearl” has been released for your reading pleasure.
Beck began writing the novel in 2014/2015, her Grade 10 year at Bonnyville Centralized High School. “I knew I wanted to be a writer ever since I was able to read,” she said. Along the way she had many supporters including her mom, Carole Beck, her siblings, and several invested teachers. After writing and editing “The Golden Pearl”, she sought out a publishing company who would make her lifelong dream come true. Archway Publishing in the States provided feedback via online support and conversations over the phone. She was able to be part of all stages of the process right down to helping design the cover. She categorizes her novel as sci-fi/action with a side of love story.
This young author is very proud of her accomplishments, as she should be! She is hoping to set up a book signing session at the Bonnyville Public Library in April. Hard copies of “The Golden Pearl” are available for purchase from Amazon and Indigo, while eBooks and Kobo provide the digital copies.
