Pontiacs Surprise Avalanche
Bonnyville Jr A Pontiacs make a surprise visit to the Elk Point rink
The Elk Point Avalanche minor hockey kids had some special guests on Tuesday evening, when four members of the Bonnyville Jr A Pontiacs surprised the Micro-Novice, Novice and Atom teams. Isaac Saniga, Dylan Stewart, Jake Gresh and Sandro Silvestre hit the ice for three hours running drills with the kids.
The visit was a complete surprise to the minor hockey kids and the coaches, who welcomed the boys. Coach of the Novice Avalanche, Jacques DeMossiac said it was nice to have a different set of voices, “sometimes they hear the same voice over and over and it doesn’t get through. This was good. It worked really well.” The Avalanche learned some of the key drills that the Pontiacs run during their practice and were able to ask the Jr A players questions about the game.
The Pontiac players stuck around a little longer then planned to give some more ice time to with the Atom Avalanche who are headed to Provincials in March. The players also made sure to take pictures with all the teams.
