Set to Play Snojuhla, Coleman Hell Receives Juno Nod
Thunder Bay musician will perform live at Kinosoo Ridge Snow Resort Feb 18
While preparing to hit the Bumper to Bumper Snow Stage on Saturday Febraury 18th, as part of the Snojuhla celebrations at Kinosoo Ridge Snow Resort, Coleman Hell received news of a Juno nomination. This is the second year the Thunder Bay born musician has been nominated for Canadian music’s highest honour.
Last year, Coleman Hell was nominated for Breakthrough Artist of the Year; however, he lost out to Alessia Cara. Alessa Cara, incidentally is also nominated in the same category as Coleman Hell for the 2017 awards; Pop Album of the Year. Other nominated in the category are, Marianas Trench’s Astoria, Shawn Mendes’ Illuminate and Tegan and Sara’s Love You To Death.
Coleman Hell has crafted a genre-defying monster of a hit with his affecting single “2 Heads.” The mesmerizing track has become a multi-format smash, surpassing 60 million global streams on Spotify and Double Platinum sales status in Canada. The song has also been nominated for 3 Canadian Radio Music Awards (AC, CHR, MODERN ROCK).
Along with his bandmates, La+ch and Michah, Coleman has spent the past few years paying his dues, offering genre-busting songs and videos that always seem to break new ground. Veering from house to alt-pop, folk-electronica and more by cleverly fusing beats atop the catchiest of song-writing shreds, Hell has a knack for pushing the boundaries of existing pop frameworks and delivering memorable choruses to boot. Anchored by his inspiring and unorthodox approach, the Thunder Bay native has forged a prolific reputation as an adventurous outlier with a diverse palate. – Juno Awards
