44 year old Leduc man pronounced deceased at scene

Traffic is no longer being detoured on Highway 646 near Range Road 75 due to a collision from last evening.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., a vehicle was heading westbound on Highway 646 when it appears to have left the roadway and hit a tree.

The lone male occupant, a 44-year-old from Leduc, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Road conditions and weather do not appear to be factors in relation to this collision. No further updates will be provided and the deceased’s name will not be released.

Elk Point RCMP investigate serious motor vehicle collision

The Elk Point and St. Paul RCMP, along with Emergency Services are currently on scene at a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 646 near Range Road 75.

At 6:49 p.m. RCMP were dispatched to attend a single vehicle collision. Investigation is currently underway and details are very limited at this point. Traffic is being detoured around the collision and the RCMP are requesting that if possible, motorists avoid travel near this location.

All contributing factors to this collision are being investigated.  An update will be provided after the investigation is completed.
