Pontiacs Welcome Parents for the Weekend
Pontiacs Parents get a glimpse of their sons’ hockey lives
Over the weekend, the Bonnyville Pontiacs hosted the Annual Parent and Billet Parent Appreciation Weekend where the organization gets an opportunity to thank our great families for all that they do. Without the PONTIAC Billet Families opening their homes to the players, who come to Bonnyville throughout North America, the team would not be able to sustain a franchise in our great community.
On Friday the moms and dads were invited to take part in “A Day in the Life of a Bonnyville PONTIAC” where they could participate in the pre-practice talk, the on-ice practice, team workout and end with the team video and daily team building. On Friday evening, an Appreciation Dinner was held and combined President, Head Coach/General Manager and Player speeches to reinforce the importance and appreciation to both the parents and billet families. Our moms were presented with roses and our dads Bonnyville PONTIAC ball caps.
On Saturday, the parents and billet parents attended the pre-game skate in preparation of the game against the Whitecourt WOLVERINES and were invited into our Player Lounge before the game and in between periods for refreshments and food.
The Appreciation Weekend capped off on Sunday with game two of the double header against the Whitecourt WOLVERINES.
“Often overlooked is the role that billet families play in our team’s success and our player’s personal growth. Our Billets are the reason that the Bonnyville PONTIACS continue to grow,” head coach of the Bonnyville Jr A Pontiacs, Rick Swan, thanks all the parents, billet parents, and family that helps shape and develop the Pontiac player.
