Man was “grossly intoxicated” say staff

On January 20th, Cold Lake RCMP received a 911 call from Casino Dene at 11:20 pm. Staff reported that a man was outside with a knife and he had appeared to be “grossly intoxicated”.

RCMP attended and arrested a 30 year old Cold Lake First Nation’s man. Vernon Berland has been charged with mischief and disobeying a court order.

Berland has appeared in front of a Justice of the Peace and was released on a $1,500 no cash recognizance. He is schedule to next appear in court on February 22nd at 10:00 am, in Cold Lake.
