Aurora Visual Arts to host Paint Night for the Food Bank

Did you ever think you could help your community just by creating a painting of your own? Bonnyville’s Aurora Visual Arts Association is hoping to provide this very opportunity.

AVAA will be hosting a fundraiser paint party on Sunday, February 26 at 2pm in the Neighbourhood Inn’s Crown & Derby Pub.  The group, run completely by volunteers, is aware of the increased strain on stocks at the Bonnyville Friendship Centre and will be donating the proceeds from this event to the food bank.

Many people give generously before Christmas but those stocks don’t last forever.  “With the holidays over, a lot of people are feeling the strain, bills start coming in, and it’s hard for many members of our community to replenish their pantry,” says Marina Blake.  AVAA’s members have always been generous with their time to support the association and now they aim to support the community. Blake, a talented artist and treasurer of the group will be leading participants through a step-by-step painting using quality materials.  You live, you learn, you paint.

Further information can be found on the Aurora Visual Arts Association’s Facebook page. Tickets can be purchased for $50 at the front desk of the Bonnyville Neighbouhood Inn.
