The Municipal District (MD) of Bonnyville tire recycling program receives a ,000 grant from Alberta Recycling, for their tire recycling area at the Therien Transfer Station. Chair of Alberta Recycling, Bob Barss praises the MD’s program in a letter to Council.

“Your construction of a bunker at at Therien Transfer Station demonstrates a strong commitment to the environment and residents of the county by ensuring they have a convenient and accessible area to recycle tires. It is a credit to the hard work of Albertans that the equivalent of 100 million car tires has been recycled through the province’s tire recycling program since its inception in 1992.”

The letter thanks the MD for their partnership, “The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 is a valued partner with registered municipal collection sites in the tire program (as well as the electronics and paint recycling programs) and we hope your residents will be well served by the grant project.”
