SHOTS FIRED DURING A RURAL BREAK AND ENTER

On December 19th, 2016 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Bonnyville RCMP received a complaint of shots fired in the area of the Muriel Viewpoint subdivision.  Three suspects had attended a homeowner’s property and were interrupted trying to steal a vehicle when the shots were fired.  There were no injuries reported but one vehicle suffered extensive bullet hole damage.  One suspect fled in the getaway vehicle while two others fled into the bushes nearby.  With the assistance of RCMP air services and a canine unit, the two suspects on foot were apprehended by police within a few hours.
One male suspect remains at large.
The two suspects, one 25 year old male and one 22 year old female remain in custody and charges are pending for a variety of offences.  Both are from the Elizabeth Metis Settlement.
