Over $30,000 Pledged for Santa’s Helpers

Numbers are rolling in from last weekend’s annual fundraiser for the Lac La Biche Firefighter’s Society’s Santa’s Helpers.
Committee head and Firefighter’s Society past-president, Chris Clark, says at this point there is just over $30,000 pledged to the food and toy hamper campaign, exceeding the goal of $20,000.
“That’s huge when you consider the economy, the pressures that are on a lot of companies, the pressures that are on our public, we still have a huge unemployment rate impacting the province,” Clark said. “That’s amazing to raise that money for a town of our size, who has given so much this year already, when you factor in events like the Lakeview Manor apartment fire and the Wood Buffalo evacuation.”
Clark adds the thank you list is large when you look at the community, sponsors, volunteers, and donors.
