The Lac La Biche Firefighter’s Society Light up the Night Santa Claus Parade committee is pleased to announce that a fireworks show has been added to the Light up the Night festivities this Friday night.
Committee head and Firefighter’s Society past-president, Chris Clark, says there will be approximately 300 shells go off at the same time the 36 foot Christmas tree is lit.
“It’ll be an approximately 5 to 8 minute fireworks show that will go off behind the businesses on Main Street,” Clark said. “If you’re planning on coming down, you’ll want to get there early, as we’re expecting 2 to 3 thousand people downtown.”
The fireworks show is only the wrap up to the Friday events, which start with a radiothon on Big Dog 103.5, followed by the Santa Claus Parade at 6:30pm, and the tree lighting by Junior Citizen of the Year Sarah Adil.
Saturday, the Santa Comes to Town event happens at the Lac La Biche Fire Hall from 11 to 2, where kids can get photos with Santa, play street hockey, and more.
