Three occupants taken to hospital for minor injuries; one charged

On November 11th, at approximately 3:20 am, the Cold Lake RCMP were called regarding a rollover on Range Road 415A. The caller reported that a truck had rolled 3-4 times, but occupants were not to be found, S/Sgt Jeremie Landry, of the Cold Lake Detachment explains.

“The caller was not sure where the occupants were, the vehicle was reported to be leaking gas.” S/Sgt Landry says along with RCMP, Cold Lake Fire Rescue and EMS were dispatched to the scene. “RCMP located three individuals. Also identified the driver, who was very intoxicated,” the S/Sgt says all three occupants were taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The driver was arrested and provided two samples of breath over the legal limit and was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle; as well as impaired operation of a motor vehicle over the legal limit of 0.08.

A 20 year old male from Cold Lake will appear in court on January 11th at 10:00 am to face the charges. The name of the accused cannot be released at this time, because charges have no yet been sworn in court.
