Though we tend to avoid franchise restaurants, Mr. Mikes is owned by a well established local family. Sal Naim and his family have owned a number of businesses in Bonnyville. We sat in the lounge and were served in a fairly timely manner.
I ordered a Blueberry tea which came in a brandy snifter with the hot tea in a pot. I was a bit worried that the snifter would shatter when I added the tea. I also found that the glass became too hot to hold. I asked for a cup to transfer the drink into so that I could drink it.

Jan ordered the Crab and Lobster Chowder. It is made with a over-spiced cajun broth. Unfortunately, that is all that he could taste, which is such a waste of crab and lobster!

I ordered the 6 oz. Sirloin steak off of the Gluten Free menu. I liked that there was a gluten free menu, but hang onto both menus as the GF menu doesn’t have prices.
I ordered my steak medium rare. It came out perfectly done, so flavorful and very tender for a sirloin. My sides of seasonal veggies and a baked potato perfectly complimented the steak. Mmmm….steak! I definitely recommend Mr. Mikes for the steak.
Our server was prompt throughout our meal. Our drinks were refilled as needed, she checked on how the food was after a few bites and was friendly and helpful. One other server gave her a hand at the end as we were ready to pay just as our server had a large table arrive.
